Our beer range.. Shropshire boasts 14 different breweries, all individual, all excellent. For now I have chosen what I consider to be the best seven. They include the oldest brewery in Great Britain, Three Tuns and also Hobsons Mild, CAMRA’s Supreme Champion Beer of Britain 2007. You cannot get a better accolade than that!
These breweries are small by national standards, the beers are brewed with dedication by the proprietors with ingredients that are second to none. We also include Shropshire Brewer of the Year 2008/9, The Ludlow Brewing Company and their Ludlow Gold, Shropshire Beer of the Year 2008/9.

New from the Autumn of '09 is the addition of Farm Ciders. Our first producer is Mahoralls who press their orchard apples on the southern slopes of Clee Hill in the south of the county.

Real Ale. It is called real ale because it is the proper and original beer. Brewed for centuries from barley, yeast and hops and sold in casks to pubs that in the main are local to the brewery. The individual flavour of these beers is vastly superior to keg or larger beers that are promoted by the major brewers. Draught Beer. Draught beer is real ale and is simply another term for the same thing. Typically used in pubs it is a general term for real ales but is sometimes also used, incorrectly in my view, for other beers such as keg and larger beers. Beer on-line. Beer at home can now be purchased on-line and delivered next day in polypins. These beer in a box containers get the real ale to you in splendid condition and identical to purchasing a pint in a public house. Buying beer on-line is a very cost effective way of experiencing quality real ales from an area that may not normally deliver to you area.
